(More customer reviews)I bought this MonsterCable DVI cable to connect my DVD player to my new HD TV. I was certainly impressed with the image quality and the sturdiness of the cable, though honestly I found the connector pins a bit finicky.
Soon my HD system grew and I needed a way to better utilize the Sony TV's single DVI input, so I bought a very nice Geffen 4 port remote controlled DVI switch. It came packaged with 4 rather generic 6' DVI cables, which I used to connect the components to the switch, saving the MonsterCable for the switch's output to the TV.
The result was great in all cases. That's when the scientist in me took over. I started swapping cables like mad, and asking any poor soul who happened to be around to identify the best picture. The result? No one, myself included, could discern the least little difference in image quality from cable to cable.
Being that the generic DVI cable is one fourth (!) the price of the brand name, obvious questions about diminishing returns are raised.

Monster HTS 1000 MKIII 8-Outlet Power Center with Clean Power Stage 2 Review

(More customer reviews)I received the Monster HTS 1000 MKIII from Amazon about a week ago, after losing my DVD player, VCR, Tivo, and Wii to a massive power surge. I was immediately surprised by the size and weight of the unit. It is quite large, weighing several pounds and measuring just over 16" long by 5" wide by 3" high when laying flat. It feels quite sturdy, made of what appears to be brushed aluminum and black plastic or thermoplastic. The cord is long (6 to 8 feet) and is of high quality (true rubber, not vinyl or shiny plastic).

Upon plugging it in for the first time, you'll notice that it seems to check itself and the power coming into it. There is a brief delay, where it measures the voltage and checks for ground - something I immediately found reassuring. There is a circuit breaker/reset button on one end, a jack for a remote cable on the other end. Monster has included labels for your various cords, so you know what you're unplugging, as well as a coaxial cable, a phone cable, and a remote cable to connect it to a receiver.

I haven't yet had the "opportunity" to test the unit as a surge protector - and I hope I never do. I purchased this as a sort of insurance policy that I hope I never use. But should a surge hit, Monster provides a $350,000 warranty covering properly connected equipment. Good enough for me.

This unit is one of the more expensive surge protectors out there, but it's less expensive than an insurance deductible, and it's certainly less expensive than replacing your electronics. A good buy by any estimate.

Monster High-Speed Three-Way HDMI Switch Review

(More customer reviews)This device allows you to use up to three devices with HDMI outputs on a TV with just one HDMI input. It is an excellent product once you learn how to use it. There is a secret you need to get it to work though--you can't just manually switch between devices: you must use the "learn" function on the switcher with ANY remote and do that for all three inputs. (Even if you are only using two inputs.)
If you don't the device will switch between, say, your PS3 and satellite box without warning. It did that with me several times right as I was trying to do gnarly maneuvers in Grand Theft Auto IV.
Once I called customer service (it's not in FAQ on their website), and was provided that information, the device works flawlessly.
If Monster would take the time to do the manual properly or at least put the info you need to eliminate an aggravating problem on its website, this would be an excellent product.

Just twist the stripped ends of your speaker wire, push through the connector, screw down the banana portion of the connector, et viola! nice gold plated banana connectors! no strain relief so tugging on the end result is not recommended but these are MUCH better than leaving the twisted bare copper ends to oxidize on your speaker posts.

(More customer reviews)We moved into a new home last February with Monster wired cables and connectors throughout the house that fed speakers to every room from a central stereo cabinet.
I bought a new receiver and utilized another brand of Speaker Selector that came with the house, and could never, never get adequate volume levels. Then I mysteriously could not get both channels in some of the rooms. After many attempts at debugging, I thought maybe my unit had died, so I looked around and saw this Monster Cable unit on AMAZON.
It's WONDERFUL! I now have more volume than I know what to do with in all the other rooms of my house, and signal is crystal clear.
Monster may be a bit more expensive, but they totally delivered and exceeded expectations with this speaker selector!
Highly recommend!
