(More customer reviews)I purchased this to help out after a miscalculation when installing a home theater. I ran the wiring myself and counted out all the inputs and sources that I would want. I forgot about the monitor out for my macbook pro. I had pulled a few extra Cat5e wires for hardwire internet connections for stuff like wii and netflix devices. I ended up with one extra Cat5e, and was referred to this product by a guy that does pro audio. I looked at my specifications, and it seemed to meet the need. I only had one extra wire, instead of the two that many required. My run was around 40'...plenty short enough for 1080p resolution. When the product arrive (extremely fast might I add) it was in a very nice package that reminded me of the apple products I have purchased. The connections are extremely easy...one RJ45 (ethernet cable), one power, and one hdmi. The units were labeled send and receive. I plugged it in, and after powering it on...it worked! I am using it with my macbook pro that does not have audio, so I can not attest to that part, but the resolution was flawless and it couldn't have been easier. The cost was right around what a cheap hdmi cable would have been, and less that what a nice hdmi cable runs. This product really saved the day and I will probably end up using it in the future.
