Cables To Go - 40018 - Coaxial to Optical Digital Audio Converter Review

This product is very simple and strait forward. Please note that it only works in one direction (Coaxial to fiber in this case). Also, it does require power to work.
The build quality does not seem to be the best but at this price I can afford to have a spare (or two).
If the manufacturer was going to make any improvements I would ask for channels to make it easier to ziptie excess cables to or near the device (Warning: if looping optical cable do not make the bends too small or you will crack the fiber inside and destroy the cable, make a circle with the loops 4 to 6 inches in diameter and put a ziptie at the 3 and 9 o'clock positions)

Harman Kardon DAL 150 EzLink Computer to Home Stereo Interface (USB to Coaxial DA) Review

These are going cheap these days and the main reason is that many computers now ship with built-in digital sound ports. If you have an older computer you can update the sound card to provide digital output pretty easily. The benefit of these other options is that *all* audio output is then digital, not just mp3's that you play through a USB port. (Note that this device doesn't support audio formats other than mp3). Now that I have built-in digital ouput, this thing just sits in a box.

Providing Power for the Digital Revolution is the broadly defined mission of Harman Kardon. The popularity of computer-based, compressed-audio formats, such as MP3, has created the need to add a new and otherwise incompatible component to home entertainment systems: the PC. Harman Kardon's DAL 150 EzLink fills that need by providing a digital link that connects the USB port of a compatible PC to the coaxial digital input of a receiver or processor. EzLink can convert an MP3 file or bitstream to PCM format for playback on many audio products. Your receiver may then process the selection using one of the many available surround modes, such as Logic 7. When used with a Harman Kardon A/V receiver, EzLink may be set to simply pass the MP3 bitstream through to the receiver, for onboard MP3 decoding. At Harman Kardon, the future is now.

GE Digital Audio Coaxial Cable (AV23324) (AV-23324)(Color May Vary) Review

$3.00?!?! Are you kidding me? Buy it. A digital signal is a digital signal is a digital signal whether you get it through a ridiculous "Monster" cable or a cheap one like this. Don't waste your time looking at the expensive stuff.
Expensive cables matter if you are connecting analog signals, but have absolutely no benefit on a digital signal.
